Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the procedure, commission, and your rights.
When are you entitled to compensation?
You are entitled to compensation if your flight:
- is delayed by more than 3 hours;
- was cancelled with less than 14 days notice; or
- you were denied boarding due to overbooking (against your will).
How can I claim compensation?
You can claim compensation through our online platform by filling out a short form with flight details and uploading the required documents.
How much compensation can I get?
The compensation amount depends on the flight distance:
- Up to 1,500 km – up to €250
- From 1,500 to 3,500 km – up to €400
- Over 3,500 km – up to €600
It is calculated based on the starting and final points of the journey, not the distance between individual connecting flights.
Do I have to pay anything upfront?
No, we only charge a commission fee if we successfully recover compensation for you.
Is there any risk of losing money?
No, we cover all costs if the case is lost, including the legal expenses of the carrier.
The only exception is if you intentionally provide false information that misleads us.
How long does it take to receive the compensation?
If the airline approves the claim voluntarily, you can receive it within a few days to weeks. The chance of this happening if you claim with us is much higher, as airlines are already facing many claims submitted by us and know our court success rate.
If court action is required, the process may take longer, typically between 8 to 18 months.
What is Claim Navigator's commission fee?
Our fee is fixed at 35% (VAT included) of the recovered compensation.
If legal court action is necessary, an additional 5% (VAT included) fee is applied.
For more information, see our pricing page.
Can the airline reduce the compensation amount?
The airline can reduce the compensation by 50% if you are offered an alternative flight and:
- The arrival delay is less than 2 hours for flights up to 1,500 km.
- The delay is less than 3 hours for flights between 1,500 and 3,500 km (or EU flights over 1,500 km).
- The delay is less than 4 hours for flights over 3,500 km.
Usually, such compensation is offered at the airport.
We DO NOT advise accepting reduced compensation, as you have a high chance of getting the full amount with our help.
Can I get compensation if the airline has provided me with food, drinks, or hotel accommodation?
Yes, you are entitled to compensation even if the airline provided food, drinks, or hotel accommodation. This care is separate from compensation and is the airline's obligation during flight delays or cancellations.
If I accept a voucher as compensation from the airline, do I have the right to additional compensation?
If the airline offered you a voucher as compensation and you accepted it, you are only entitled to compensation under Regulation 261/2004 if the voucher is of lower value.
Am I entitled to compensation if I travelled for free or at a reduced fare?
If you travelled on a ticket purchased at a reduced fare available to the general public, you are entitled to compensation for flight disruptions.
However, if you travelled for free or on a ticket available only as part of a special offer not accessible to the public (e.g. employee travel), you are not entitled to compensation under Regulation 261/2004. Nevertheless, it does apply to passengers holding tickets issued under a frequent flyer program.
What happens if the airline refuses to pay voluntarily?
If the airline refuses to pay voluntarily, we take additional legal action on your behalf by filing a claim in court.
Am I entitled to compensation if I miss a connecting flight?
Yes, you are entitled to compensation if both flights are part of a single booking, you arrive at the final destination with a delay of at least 3 hours, and the delay is not due to extraordinary circumstances.
Am I entitled to compensation if the flight is outside the EU?
For travel from a non-EU country to an EU airport, you are entitled to compensation if the operating airline is licensed in an EU country.
Do not worry, we will check this for you.
The airline moved the departure time to an earlier hour, what are my rights?
When the airline advances the departure time by more than one hour, the flight is considered cancelled, and you are entitled to compensation up to €600, depending on the distance.
Am I entitled to compensation if I purchased my ticket through a travel agency or tour operator?
Yes, you are entitled to compensation even if your ticket was purchased through a travel agency or tour operator.
How will I receive the compensation if the airline approves it?
Once we receive the compensation from the airline, we make a bank transfer to your designated account, deducting our commission.
The airline contacted me regarding my compensation - what should I do?
If you filed the claim through us and the airline contacted you directly, please notify us immediately. This will allow us to review their offer and ensure you receive the full compensation you are owed.
Can I file a claim for my children if they are under 18?
Yes, as their legal representative, you can file a claim on their behalf.
Can the airline deny me future bookings?
No, that would be illegal. Furthermore, airlines do not have such practices as it would lead to a loss of customers.
